Maplin is fine. Their delivery agents are not.
Over a week ago ( Monday 30 Aug) I ordered a TV aerial. The same day I was sent an email stating my aerial had been despatched. In that email was a parcel tracking number for the company DHL. The following day I tried to trace the package. The number I had been given referred to a parcel sent November 2003 to Canterbury (not where I live). Thinking Maplin had made an error, I contacted them and they told me that everything was in order their end and I should receive the package the following day. I didn't. I used the parcel tracking number again and it still said the same thing as previously. Giving them be benefit of the doubt, I waited until early Thursday morning and again checked the tracker. Ahh, a development. The tracker had been updated. I read that my parcel was in Horndean (my local DHL depot). I thought (unwisely as it turned out) that my aerial would be on the van that day. It wasn't. Nothing happened Friday either. I finally received the package yesterday.
This is DHL's so-called 1 - 3 day delivery service.
Come on Maplin, This doesn't do your reputation any good. Sort DHL out or change to a better courier.
