Please help, what monitor should i buy??

Hi there. Please help me. I am planning on buying a new 26inch monitor that i will be conecting to my vaio laptop via HDMI. I will also be using my PS3. i will be participating in very light photo editing and obvioulsy some gaimg in HD. I know that many 26 inch monitors display only on 16:10 ratio rather that the standard 16:9. How much quality will i honestly loose????? i am not a perfectionist but i like a nice picture. my limit is really around £300 max so i am looking at the iiyama prolite E2607HDS and the Samsung syncmaster 2693HM.
The monitor will also be mounted on the wall so will need to be VESA compliant. What do people think of my short list and have you any other suggestions.
My thoughts are that as i edit on a 15.4" laptop screen and play PS3 on a mid range hd tv now, either models will be a vast improvement (or am i wrong) thanks for your help

I have a Samsung SM (in 22 inch) and can thoroughly recommend it. Can't comment on the Iiyama though, I would suggest reading online reviews.

I would first ask myself = "Do I want to use this solely as a monitor? - or an extra TV? If you get a 32" TV with HDMI, DVI or the like then you can use it as both. You can watch BBC Iplayer and the like at, what I consider, to be a decent size Tele. You will get a decent picture when you connect the laptop to the T/V via the HDMI socket - well, at least, I did. Might be worth the extra.
