since trying to download a 1.5Mb file outlook closes down after about 3-4 mins. Up to then everthing is OK. Have run "repair" & "reinstall" Office but no change - help anyone?

What is the product key you are using (dont answer that here), but if it begins with GC6J3 you have a problem.

If not, then go to C/windows/system32 and search for a file called msblast.exe and if it is there you have a virus that can cause the system to crash.

Plenty of removal tools around that should get you up again in no time.
