Online bank statements

Are these a good idea? (if you're not self employed so don't have to do self assessment etc)
I'm with hsbc and they say you can access up to 6 years of online statements.

Yes - you never know when you might need to check back on something. And for me - much easier than getting into my loft.

of banking any other way. All my business and personal banking is done online - it works perfectly, and of course everything's available 24 hours a day, wherever I happen to be.

I suppose you can save the statements on to your computer rather than have loads of paper copies you have to file away and taking space.

You get online statements direct from the banking service or open up a statement from a monthly statement update (at least with the Halifax).

I wouldn't risk posting cheques - the Halifax has a facility at the branch whereby you put them into an envelope and drop it into a special box if you don't wish to queue up.
