In the past, my software has always come on a CD/DVD from which I installed the program(s). Most office software now comes as a "key". I am new to this and not sure how it works. If and when I have my "key", do I then have to download the program(s) from a Microsoft site, such as Word, Excel, etc ? If so, they will be rather large downloads. Is this how it works ?

If you buy a pack with a key from a store, there will be instructions as to where to download it from. The Office 2007 DVD I have shows 1.74Gb.
