new year new laptop

I need a laptop. It needs to be a genuine desktop replacement. Weight and battery life is not an issue. Cost around £1,000:00. It needs to have decent office-type performance and a bit of gaming wouldn't hurt. I would look for a decent warranty. I need reliability and decent after-sales service.

What's my best bet(s) in the sales?

Thanks in advance for the help, people.

Might be worth looking around lots of vendors will have good offers on for the sales, check out the sub £1200 section on here.

Thanks-although having already trawled the main websites, I admit to being more confused than ever.

I was rather hoping for a specific recommendation to soothe my fevered brain!

Can anyone help?

Cheers,
