I am looking for a new 19" monitor do I want DVI annd whats its use and any recomendations

Some say that it is better but quite often a matter of opinion and user opinion. Does your graphics card have DVE output? If not, then no point sending extra for it (in my view at least).

Check reviews for monitors on the net and if at all possible see some in use in various outlets. Just remember that the artificial light in many shops will give you a distorted view.

Depening on your budget, take a look at the LG Flatron L1915S - I got it for £210 and it is excellent - general use and the occasional DVD.

Looks good value at just over £200 about the price I wanted.

In Tesco today - its 19in Acer offering is £199 but I don't know the model or spec.

There are even cheaper 19in models around these days.
