new laptop advice

About to invest in a new laptop. Using it for basic work (office - word, excel) and basic video editing. No gaming. I'm considering Dell XPS M1330, which seems to have a good offer currently, or Toshiba Satellite, I forget the specific number for the latter. Spending around £600-750. I'm nervous about not being about to handle the dell first. Does anyone have experience or advice on these models, or recommend another in this price range..?
Many thanks

Sorry, forgot to include - want to carry relatively regularly, so around 2kg is ideal. And prefer a 13.3" screen, altho would consider 12.1.
Thanks again
