New desktop - advice needed

  byfordr 17:05 06 Dec 03

My Dad is in the market for a new desktop. He wants something with a minimum of 15” flat screen, I figure 512mb memory (so xp doesn’t run too much like a dog) Graphics card not too much of a problem. I can always add something in later (He doesn’t play the games) Price range somewhere between £800 to £1200.

Any advice as always is gratefully received.

Tell your Dad to stop being so greedy and make do with either a laptop or a desktop ;)

Has he considered a docking station - see the Dell website for ideas.

Mesh, Evesham, Dell, Time, PCWorld are all offering systems that would meet your needs. As to many others (far too many to name) so have a look at the reviews on this site, search around and see what you find. Once you have done that come back with a shortlist which I'm sure people will happliy pull to pieces.
