Hi

The brother in law is looking for a cheap ( £250) laptop.

He is pretty alien to computers, so just looking for a budget model which will allow him internet access and allow him to store business invoices etc.

It will literally be for nothing else! No games, mibbe watching the odd DVD on it.

Any ideas/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I cannot recommend a laptop but would suggest that any any business invoices, document, pictures etc he stores on the laptop are backup onto an external device just in case the laptop fails.

You'll be struggling to get a normal size basic new laptop for £250. £330 to £350 might be more realistic, I reckon. Would a netbook with a small - say 10 inch - screen be any use? Not very good for regular office tasks or viewing dvd's, though.

I stand corrected. Cheapest I could find was from Staples click here at around £280.

Cheers ame

to be honest, he's completely pc illiterate, so he'll not be doing any business as such on it. Just storing e mail attachments etc and as said in first post.

Thanks!
