My friend would like to join TalkTalk for phone and broadband. Would she be able to keep her Virgin cable phone number? It is a well known charity, and a number change would cause problems.

Has she considered reviews of service standards?

I would say no chance of keeping number.

There is a BT line with Sky broadband already in use. The plan is to migrate this to TalkTalk.

The Virgin cable line would then be ceased, making that number spare. Number portability rules should make it possible to give this number to the 'new' service from TT, would it not?

The answer is No.

Inability to transfer non-BT phone numbers

Apparently there as been a few problems about retaining your original phone number with some providers. Perhaps a call to Ofcom will resolve any problems?.

I would also mention that Martin Lewis had an article in last weekends newspaper about BT and Talk Talk, regarding price alterations.
