after read about problems with update Q811493 on this forum which I was also experiencing, I and others now find that the following two updates are also causing slowdowns.
Both to do with outlook express

Only the Q811493 slowed my PC down. I have installed the other two you mention WITHOUT any slowdown at all. They obviously affect some systems and not others.

and IE6 SP1, and notice for the first time that both these IE/OE updates are listed in and removable from Add/Remove programs. TC.

I have downloaded both updates and am using IE6 SP1 and ME, havn't noticed any difference.

If you go to my thread "UPDATES AHHHH!" you'll see others having trouble with these downloads, glad not everyone having problems.

Just a general lack of performance, if you go to my thread "Windows Updates Ahh" you'll see others having problems with them

Have you installed bootvis and re-run it?
