Not too sure if 'cracking' is the best way to describe a monitor ;) but liyama do have a very good reputation and good customer service. Just check for things like DVI (and if you get a cable) and also the maximum resolution supported.

Yes, I bought an Iiyma Prolite E435S last month, excellent.

I bought this in preference to the E431S because : -

(a) Faster response time.
(b) You can tilt the screen.
(c) More powerful speakers.

You will need to buy a DVI cable because they only supply a VGA.

The default resolution as with all 17" TFT's is 1280 x 1024.

I have a sharp TFT no dead pixels very good screen - try and get one with a 16ms refresh or better if poss & as someone else said DVI although mine also has an analogue input.

I have just purchased an Iiyama E435S and its great. The Customer Service from Iiyama is second to none. It also has a 10ms response time.

I bought two iiyama 17in S702GT monitors (CRT) in 1999, one for me and the other for one of the offspring.

Both are used daily - mine is on for 10 hours a day or more - and have proved faultless.

The display quality is first class and, in the case of my own monitor, the original setup configuration has never required modifying; the brightness and contrast settings are also exactly as first set six years ago.
