missing at shut down

Just a small query. The "It is now safe to shut down your computer" is suddenly missing when I shut down. I know it is not essential, but would like it back. Any suggestions?

Do you mean "It is now safe to turn off" or "Windows is shutting down"?

Check logow.sys is still in your c:\windows folder. There's another for the "Safe to turn off" screen, I can't remember it's name I'll post back in a min if I find it.

logos.sys located in C:\Windows too

You can open both files in an image editing program to view. They're used at boot/shutdown, you'll see what I mean when you open one.

If your PC turns itself off then there's no problem. If it hangs try installing the shutdown patch from MS if you're on 98.
