Microsoft force feedback pro joystick

  sir boss 21:09 20 May 04

I have just purchased a new computer with windows xp, my joystick has a "D" type plug but the computer only has usb sockets.
I purchased a usb converter but the still will not work, I keep getting a message which reads "YOUR GAMEPORT OR GAMEPORT DRIVERS ARE NOT PROPERLY CONFIGURED".
Any help would be most welcome.

Have you downloaded the latest drivers for your joystick as the ones you have may not be happy with XP?

I have tried every driver I could find, but still no joy.

Just been on the Sidewinder webpage - which model is yours as I can't see the pro listed?

I have the same problem. I have been told by ABIT that the mobo cannot access the address for the gameport. The only solution is to buy a USB joystick.

Until recently was running the MS FFpro on XP Pro.

with gameport connection.

With xp pro at least there is inbuilt support for this stick, I just added it through the game controller section in the control panel.

Worked fine.

Now have this though
