Mesh Laptops

Iam currently thinking about purchasing a Laptop computer. It appears certain Mesh products have gained good ratings recently.Having floated about on the net recently I have read that Mesh do not actually build the laptops they sell.Someone in a forum indicated they sourced them from Taiwan prebuilt. This led to problems with support and drivers etc.
Can anyone comment on this.

I think you will find that most laptops are like this. Unlike desk tops where assembly can be a do it yourself operation, laptops require a fair amount of skill in assembly due to the restricted space available and require specially designed components to fit in this space.

Because of this, there are relatively few manufacturers and if you look carefully at various "brands" and designs you will see a lot are very, very similar in appearance and specification. Often the only real difference between them is the name badge.

Sometimes what can happen is that some notebook businesses like Rock get a basic skeleton of a computer from companies like Clevo Co or Mitac. They then have to add a processor, memory and hard disk.

This can sometimes make the difference between a notebook that features at the top end of reviews, and lower end. Even though they look identical.
