I know exactly the same question has been asked about 12 months ago, but after someone asked if £30 for 256 DDR RAM was a good deal, i am about to buy some, but thought it might fall even further...

what do you think?

here's the link to the same question last year, where the price ranged from £50 to £100+ for the same amount, obviously it is out of date now.

well the RAM i use is going to be dear no matter what, its OCZ Extended Latency RAM which uses Samsung modules, is PC3500, has SPD timings of 2T 2T 2T 5T 1T and runs at 450mhz with ease (SPD is 434mhz). It cost me almost £200 for a 512mb stick just before christmas and it has not come down much at all since then!

IN the past few days i've been watching the price of a 256MB DDR2100 stick at crucial. The price has dropped about £10 or so in only a couple of days. So i have just ordered some. If crucial's prices are dropping there's gotta be something in it. But of course this could change at any minute.

i paid £136 for 512mb crucial pc2700 4 months ago i got another stick 2 weeks for £99 and ive just checked now and its down to £96 so the prices are falling.

I heard that RAM would get more and more expensive to a peak at the end of 2002, and now it is coming down again

After reading this thread - went to Crucial and bought another 256MB 2100 for under £40. Last time I looked it was £50+

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but I have my finger on the checkout button at click here - for the same 256DDR 2100 for £32.27. I just can't make up my mind if I need it or not.

Sod's law says it will go up tomorrow...
