Does anyone know of an organisation "MBCONTACT.COM"?
A friend has been billed by them but I suspect a scam of some kind because putting that in a browser address bar or a search engine produces no results.

Thanks rdave13, looks like my friend has been ripped off as I suspected. Perhaps his bank/card issuer will be sympathetic. I don't know what he clicked on but he was getting a version of AVG at the time.

Without going way back in the PCA archives, isn't this the same people (with new change of name)who had a rather bad press and media event?.

The FE might have better recall of events, as he gave a radio interview at the time!.

So is it or isn't it a legit organisation? It certainly billed my friend for something he hadn't bought (Nero?)while he was on an AVG site downloading their free anti-virus package.

They used to bill folk for visits to Porn Sites.

The Porn Site had been visited but the T&C's not read. To avoid the charge it was necessary to cancel Admission Rights (which were free for three days) within a certain Period.

Not a clue what he clicked on tullie - and neither has he now! Nothing had been debited to his card & he's got his card issuer to cancel the card to be safe.
