I have a msi kt400 motherboard i want to update my bios but i don't have a floppy drive.How can i do this ? I've tried live update but it only shows dos mode and asks for a floppy it shows windows mode but it is greyed out.Is there a way i can flash bios without a floppy.

Have you tried creating a bootable Cd and putting the flash files on that. It's how I have to update my mobo.

Think carefully before doing this. If your BIOS flash goes wrong your computer is no more.

Only carry out this procedure if it is absolutely necessary.

Why don't you check the MSI website or manual to see if your motherboard is compatible with the online Bios updates service?

You can also download VGA Bios and other updates in this way.

For my KT600 motherboard you install the Live Bios/Live Driver tool from the CD-ROM disk supplied to use this service.

Is there a specific reason you wish to update your BIOS.

Recently I have always used MSI boards and have never felt the need to use this facility.

As €dstowe says, you need to be careful.
