Ahhh back in the days when I had a 4x SCSI CDR. It got so hot it was fitted with it's own 20mm fan in the back of the case.

Must admit my first CR-RW was x4 write x 2 re-write & x 16 read.
Think it cost me over £70!

My first CDR drive back in 1998 was a philips 1.x !!

68 minuets to write a disk!

But of course back then it was such a novelty (and exclusive club) to own a CDR it didnt matter.
