Laptop/notebook advice

  astra46 23:19 20 Feb 03

My friend is going to buy a laptop. He is asking my advice but I do not have a clue. I know more about desktop systems.

He wants to use it for internet and writing letters. So I dont know if he needs a powerfull system. Perhaps a Celeron might be useful. Are laptops expandable?

He likes the Compaq brand systems, but they seem expensive compared to some like Dell or Mesh laptops.

Any help would be appreciated as I would like to help.
