Laptop buying advice please

Can you please advise me on the best laptop to buy - I have been looking around mainly at the asus x53z and the advent monza 8GB.

But the more I look around the more confused i get - and the few review there are are not very helpful, and very contradictory.

Can anyone please give me their advise on the laptops above - or recommend a better suited laptop for me.

I use quite a bit of Photoshop and video - storing the files mostly on the laptop, also play some games. I have a budget of max £400.

Thank you grateful fro any opinions.

Store your files in more than one place, preferably 3 eg laptop and external harddrives.

Have a look at Lenova, Toshiba, Dell or Samsung.

Given a straight choice between Asus and Advent, I would go with Asus, purely on the basis of reputation, but that's a personal choice.

Your ease, or difficulty, of finding a suitable laptop, depends on YOUR definition of your words "video" and "some games". Most laptops, with a reasonable dual core processor, and basic discrete graphics, are going to be capable of some video editing, and playing very basic games. But, if you are talking about good performance at video editing, and gaming, then your choices will be much more limited (and maybe impossible at your budget).

If you can give some indication of what YOU mean by "video" and "games", eg what games, it may be possible to give more detailed advice.

Certainly agree with Woolwell's advice, on other manufacturers to look at.
