Identifying a motherboard

I have a motherboard from a machine I bought last year. How do I identify it?

its a home built one I got through a friend and cannot contact the original owner.

its not working so unfortunately i cant use the down load, its an old Digital Equipment Corp m/board, the only numbers i have are:

Fair-rite 274301 9447

i have run extensive searches on google compaq/hp (i think DEC is/was compaq/HP) but to no avail.

any suggestions?

I suspect what you want to know may be difficult to find - can I enquire why you want to know, as there may be an alternative solution to whatever your problem is.
