I need to buy a laptop, but I'm lazy.

Here's the thing:-

A client of mine is going travelling. She's used to using a desktop computer, and email has become an essential tool - this person runs a small home business, providing specialised advice to teachers. Money is tight, and the lady in question has just been informed she has a very serious illness - she's decided to travel for a few months whilst she's still able to get around, and most of her funds will go towards the cost of her trip.

She's asked me to find her a laptop, and obviously the price has to be right - a really nice second-hand machine wouldn't be out of the question. To be honest I'm pushed for time on this.

I thought that some of you might help - you may have been doing a similar search, or you may know of a likely source. Any ideas?

£500 tops

hzhzhz - yes, I also looked at Dell. The Inspiron 630m is a definite possibility.

there is a basic one here :

make sure you tick the box 90-Day Collect and Return service in the Cover It with Dell Support Services as that subtracts some of the money as its only a 90 day rather than 3 year warrenty.

I for one would be glad to send an amount of cash toward a new one. Maybe if your that pushed, you could buy it and we will send the cash direct to you. This would buy her a bit more time of use if you see what I mean.I'm sure that most of us could cough up a few quid in circumstances like this. So come on guys & dolls let's help out our brilliant FE.
