Help a reasonably priced system

Hiya folks

I've been asked to help a friend to buy a new PC package, Their current choice is the Tiny Home Power 3200, my only concerns are that the 17" TFT is only available for the first 1000 customers (can't see what they provide if your customer 1001). With the size of programmes in today's gaming market is a 128mb GeForce card enough? and is a 6 channel on board sound card OK? e.g. what happens when on board components crash/don't work or die.Machine is now redundant until fixed.
If anyone out there can advise on a reasonable priced system for a working Mum with 2 teenage kids, 1 who is studying media at Uni, please let me know.Cheers

Might be worth looking at the Toysrus desktop advertised p16 today's D Telegraph. Price £499 seems v low for the spec. click here
