My laptop is dying. Have had it for 6 year so it has done well.

Looking to store photos, music and documents. It also must be able to play games especially football manager.

Budget is approx £500.

Would like ideally a 14" screen but may have to accept a 15". Requires 1000gb storage 4-8gb ram

Been looking predominantly at lenovo and asus. Have three machines but open to other suggestions LENOVO G500 -£500 Specifications Processor Intel® Core™ i5-3230M Dual Core (2.6GHz, Intel Ivy Bridge Architecture, 3MB Cache, Intel Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) Screen 15.6" (Lenovo Glossy, LED Backlit, 1366 x 768 Resolution Screen) Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 64-bit RAM 8GB (DDR3) Hard Drive 1000GB Optical Drive DVD Rewriter (Records DVDs 8x & CDs 24x & Dual Layer Super Multi) Graphics Dedicated (AMD Radeon HD 8750M with 2GB Dedicated RAM) Wireless LAN Wireless (802.11b/g/n Wireless) Network Card 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Integrated Webcam Integrated Webcam with Microphone Card Reader 2-in-1 card reader ( SD, MMC ) USB Ports 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0 Speakers Integrated Sound System VGA Port 1 External VGA Port Kensington Lock Kensington lock slot Charge Time 2.5 Hours HDMI Port 1x HDMI Port Warranty 12 Months Warranty - Direct with Lenovo (View More Information) Battery Life 5-6 Hours (Upto 5 Hour Battery Life) Weight 2-3 Kg (This Model 2.6 Kg) Product Type Notebook Keyboard Type Laptop Keyboard

The more options you are given the more you will end up procrastinating over which laptop to buy. You have 3 decent specs there for your money and from 2 respected manufacturers. Personally I would choose from what you have already researched.

By the way I could not find a 14" laptop with the same specs for the budget you specify.

Go to £600 and you can get this Asus it will do everything you want.

Thanks chub_tor. It seems quite stylish in by opinion. The lenovo looks bland but seems to be pretty decent from a spec perspective.

The Novatech laptops seem very good. In fact, I'm thinking of ordering one myself!
