LG G6 review: Hands-on with LG’s bold, big-screen shot at perfection
Hello, I am in the process of getting a laptop. This is my first laptop. I never realized what a pain in the it is to go computer shopping and researching the different model numbers is super confusing. I have 4 laptops that I have posted specs below. I wasn't sure what specs to post so please let me know If I am missing a key point. I am interested in a touchscreen laptop for everyday web surfing, watching movies, gaming(I would like to be able to play Sim City, The Sims 3 and maybe 4, Minecraft and possibly WoW. Memory 8gb or better. My budget is around $600-$700. I am not sure what else to add. I really appreciate any help with this as I have been researching for a while now and feel I am going in circles. So here are some choices so far am open to others as well.
Acer Aspire V3-572PG-50X5 15.6-Inch Touchscreen - $599.00 Intel Core i5-4210U 1.7 GHz Processor (3MB Cache) 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM 1 TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive 15.6-Inch Screen, NVIDIA GeForce 840M with 2GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM up to 7-hour battery life
HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-n071nr - $549.00- refurbished AMD A10 Quad-Core Accelerated Processor 2.1 GHZ ( no cache info listed) 8GB RAM 1TB..Hard Drive AMD Radeon HD 8610G graphics with up to 4195MB total available memory 4.5 hour battery life
HP Envy 15-j070us 15.6-Inch Touchscreen $700.00 new AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M 2.5GHz ( no cache info listed) 8 GB DIMM 1TB Hard Drive AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics with up to 4204MB total graphics memory up to 6.5 hour battery life
Dell Inspiron 15z Ultrabook $725.00 Intel Core i5-3337U 1.80 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.70 GHz 6GB RAM / 500GB HDD + 32GB SSD Intel HD 4000 couldn't find graphics memory size info or cache info
I'm sorry I haven't limited down to less choices. The first one the Acer seemed perfect I only wonder about the 1.7 GHZ( It seems most games want 2.0GHz or better) But maybe it having a dedicated graphics card will make up for the lower GHz. I am really a noob at this. I also was curious about the Dell that has not as good graphics but has a hybrid HD +SSD. I don't know if having SSD helps in gaming or not. I really appreciate any help with this. I didn't realize how confusing it could be when it comes to model numbers , specs and all that stuff. Thank you all very much it is really appreciated.
