Halogen Oven Advice

I have just got one and found it brilliant for thinish foods, pies etc. but having a terrible time cooking joints. Booklet says 180-190 but after 20 mins of 180 starting to burn on the outside.
Next time tried at 160. Nicely cooked on outside but raw on the inside.
Anyone tell me what temperature is needed to cook it all the way through.

I never do joints higher than 140, i wind up the temp towards the end on pork joints to make the crackling

How long per lb do you cook them for at that temp.
