Graphics Cards

I currently have a Nvidia Geforce FX 5200, which i need to upgrade to enable me to play newer games.

The game spec i have seen has this spec
"Video Card - 128MB minimum. Nvidia FX 5900 Ultra or greater; ATI Radeon 9800 or greater; Intel 82915G/82910GL or greater."

I was after some advice as to what i need and the best place to get it from? I'm not looking to spend a fortune as planning to upgrade my whole PC in a years time.

Are there any compatibility issues with regards graphics cards?

First off what is your current PC Specs and what is the game your trying to play ???

I've got -

AMD Athlon 2000+ 1.67ghz (i think)
Nvidia Graphics Card

I'm wanting the new FM 2010 game.

The main thing you need to be aware of is the interface, is it AGP or PCI-E? If, as I suspect is the case, your existing card is AGP you will need the same again which limits your options for upgrade.

Arguably the best AGP graphics card atm is a HD4670 (e.g click here), but they don't come cheap at £70-80 click here.

We may have to determine if your motherboard will be compatible. Will require a 400W or greater PSU (going by info at HIS click here), & is powered by a single 4pin molex power connector. It'll do well if paired with a fairly good CPU - an AMD Athlon 2000+ is likely to limit its full potential. G
