Hi, I am looking at an Athlon 64 3400 processor system which i would occasionaly use to play games. However there is a choice of the following graphics cards :-

128Mb nVIDIA Ge Force FX 5600 Personal Cinema - non dvi

128Mb " " " FX 5900 XT TV Out + Dvi

128Mb " " " FX 6800 LE " " "

Having no previous knowledge of these cards i would appreciate any opinions as to the merits or otherwise before making a decision

click here shows you what the geforce cards can do - the radeon 9800 pro seems to get very good reviews, but I am not a gamer.

Thats a rather varied selection of cards you have been offered, the FX6800LE is at the bottom of the new range of 6800 cards click here

Not one of those cards will make full use of the system you are looking at, see if you can upgrade to a slightly better card.

The 6800Le is the most powerful of the bunch but is really a stripped down 6800 with 128mb RAM.

If it has to be 1 of them get the 6800LE if you can go a bit higher aim for 6800 GT or X800Pro, I just sold my 9800Pro as it's starting to show it's age.

I agree with BITS&BOBS. If you can afford to go the extra mile, get a 6800GT. I bought one of these beauties a couple of weeks ago and it is an excellent card and would be a worthwhile upgrade if you have more than a passing interest in gaming.
