Locked that it is to donate, through its Intel Foundation, $1m to the relief efforts following the South Asian earthquake disaster.

In addition throughout November it will match employees' donations to the fund raising efforts.

It will be provided through the International Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies and Mercy Corps International.

So far this year Intel and its employees have donated more than $11m in cash and in-kind to the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and nearly $5m to the Asian tsunami disaster.

Last year almost $104m was donated to various disaster funds in several parts of the world, including Iran and other countries.
