Hi All,

I am thinking about buying a new laptop and would like some advice whether Dell laptops are any good? I need it for basic home stuff like using my Ipod/Itunes, internet, and usual MS office work. Oh and for connecting with my Camera. I also would like to think that the laptop would last a good few years.

The one Ive found is £639 (i wouldnt want to pay anymore than this) and the deal at the moment is a free memory upgrade from 512 to 1024.

The spec is:
INSPIRON 6400 Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T5200 (1.60 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 533 MHz FSB)
Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium. Collect & Return, 1 Year Service only. 15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display. 1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512). 120GB (5,400rpm) Hard Drive. Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including software. 128MB ATI® Mobility™ Radeon® X1300 HyperMemory™ graphics card. 6 Cell, 56Whr Lithium Ion Primary Battery. Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini PCI Wireless LAN Card for Core 2 Duo Processors. Microsoft® Works 8.5 - English

Thank you.

is fine, and the current Dell promotion for a free memory upgrade is a good one - I've recommended it to couple of my clients.

The laptop you describe will handle your work specfication, and serve you well for more than two years.
