Free Upgrade

I have received a e-mail from Microsoft offering a FREE update to Internet Explorer 7. I get errors when I try to install it which is not surprising as I am using Windows ME.
I wonder if they are also going to offer me a free update to XP/Vista so I can take them up on their free Internet Explorer offer.

No harm in asking!

I find it very odd that you, apparently, got an e-mail of this type purporting to be from MS.

IE7 is freely available just by visiting the MS Update site.

I believe there is a small upgrade for IE7, it is for uses of XP only

I also got an email offering IE7 which I have been using for ages .So they are a bit late.

I assumed that it was Spam and deleted it.

IE7 is free in the first place, so to advertise a Free Upgrade struck me as highly suspicious.

I updated with no problems but you are warned to shut down IE7 before installing.
