*sigh* just recieved this e-mail....

Is the "ustomer services" e-mail address real (i.e. they are just flooding the e-mail address) or a spammers harvesting address (i.e. do they now have my address?)

I ask again. What do you think?

  Forum Editor 23:29 12 Nov 05

to anyone that Sainsburys would soon be out of business if they gave away £60 of food to everyone who forwarded an email to their customer services department.

It's a hoax.

  puma22 10:19 13 Nov 05

Hi, yep, i think it is too good to be true. Would have been good for the xmas shop though!

  PaulB2005 10:45 13 Nov 05

I guess my e-mail address has been sent to a spammer.

I've been telling people for months to check these e-mails with sites like Snopes click here or even to ask me but one group of friends constantly fire these e-mails off without checking. In the past i just deleted the message and sent back a link to Snopes.

This time it looks like my address has been sent to spammers.

My question above was trying to determine is this is supposed to some sort of mail flooding exercise or an e-mail harvesting exercise. Looking at the Whois information it's clearly not a Sainsburys address but at the time i wondered if Sainsburys use a third party (even State side) for their customer services. Thinking again i guess the address is spammers harvesting address....

..use a third party[even State side]...

There main customer services are still in London,UK. But the delays in getting my free vouchers of late, they may well be in the States :o)
