Hi, I purchased a light from a from a company on the internet 7 months ago. It recently developed a fault so i contacted the company and they said return it to them. The company said they are unable to replace the item because they have sold out of the item and they dont know when they are getting more stock.

What are my options now ???

get a refund and shop elsewhere?

The law entitles you to either a refund or an equivalent replacement (in value and function), though I am unsure whether you can dictate which. You are outside the 6 month period in which a faulty item is deemed to have been intrinsically faulty at the time of sale unless it is proven otherwise, but you still have some recourse under the provisions that state that an item should last for a reasonable length of time (undefined in the legislation).
