need advice on which hd to buy,ie. 80gb-160gb,
fan-fanless, 8 or 16mb cache to be used for copying all computer files including os. I have been unlucky with internal hd failures losing all data twice and wish to avoid infuture but cant spend too much £70-£80 maybe

Personally, I have a Netgear SC101 with 2 X 300GB Maxtors in it via a router. Works a treat and will do incremental back-ups without any slowing down. The first back-up will take a little time depending on software and size etc.
