Huawei P10 review
I went diving through the depths of the internet looking for a good gaming laptop. I came across EXOTIC PC's online help and gave it a shot. In the end the person suggested the SAGER NP8268-S with $830 in upgrades. Is it worth to get a lower priced laptop and buy add ons' or buy a pre-made ready to ship?

There are many such postings, that are placed on the Forum, to draw attention to some product or producer. Usually they come from a "First Time" Poster.
As to your new Gaming Laptop.
If you buy a preconfigured Model and some part of it does not work properly. The Retailer/Manufacturer will be responsible for its failure and the correction thereof.
Should you configure a design yourself. Then a proportion if the blame for its failure will be down to you and the Retailer/Manufacturer will have a loophole to get out of their responsibility which they will, most likely, use.
I have read some very bad reviews of this supplier's customer service. That doesn't automatically mean the computers it supplies are not good, but it does tend to sound a note of caution in my book.
My comments are based on what I've read here and are not based on personal experience. In fairness, all online suppliers are going to have some dissatisfied customers.
So essentially by buying a laptop online with customized parts I assume a larger risk; I had not considered that extra risk. I will definitely look into the quality of the company's I have been looking at.
P.S. In my original post I forgot to add the the price of the customized laptop, it is $2,149.
I would certainly not be putting that kind of money into the hands of a company with a debateable track record.
As FE didn't say. Carry on searching.
Dell's Specialist Wing, Alienware, has a reasonable reputation. Although I have no knowledge of their recent products
"So essentially by buying a laptop online with customized parts I assume a larger risk;"
Not necessarily, but a lot depends on your location. In Europe we have very good consumer-protection legislation, but the same level of protection may not exist where you live.
A custom-built computer may contain components selected from a list provided by the supplier, and in that situation the compatibility issues will no doubt have been considered. If you specify parts that the supplier has not tested for compatibility you stand a greater chance of encountering problems if you find that something goes wrong later.
Alienware just tried to match the price and build of the above laptop... The online chat guy was a joke. Read the last part of my conversation, It cracked me up.
