Hi all

Its time for be to buy a DVD RW.

I don't want to spend more than £150.00
I have seen what PC Advisor reckon in their top 10
and it is under £150. A good start.

What do you lot reckon? Anything good for less money. I get made redundant soon so I am watching the pennies!!

Cheers

But I'm a cheapskate so I'm looking to spend even less. Starting to like the look of the Liteon LDW411S, which is the fastest of the ones I've looked at. More learned opinions always welcome...

Thanks for replying.
I like Liteon.

When i have put CDRW and DVD Roms in people's machines I have used them and they are great especially as they are cheap.
A little dickie bird told me that Liteon is actually a JVC make? Maybe why they are so good.

How much is that one going for?

as £84.99 at Dabs. It's a retail package too. Does all the formats except DVD RAM, which I hear is on the route of the Dodo anyway.
Can't say I know anything about Liteon/JVC, but this has bagged a good 4.5/5 from 25 reviews on Ebuyer.

The one I posted is the new EIGHT speed writer.

Thanks to both of you.

I will check them out.
Don't ya just love this forum?

I will leave this open until the morning in case anyone else wants a say.

OFF TO BED NOW.

Thanks again!

....and it's 98p cheaper at Dabs apparently! :o)

Dabs it is then LOL

leo49, our posts clashed; I wasn't trying to undercut you.
After all's said and done, can't say I'm a speed freak. I've got far more time than money...

No worries - the way prices are falling I'm betting the 4x will be around the £60 after Christmas as more 8x come on the market. The new Plextor 8x has only been out 7 weeks and it's already dropped from £195 to £149.
