Do you ever get the feeling that IT companies are drip feeding their products onto the market ?

Take graphics cards, one company releases a new faster card only to be countered by a rival company with a slightly faster one. Do the CPU manufacturers have a range of chips waiting to be released to enable them slightly leapfrog over their rival or when they feel they have saturated the market with that speed of chip ?

Just a thought !
