dongle v mifi for remote access to Internet?

Which would be the cheaper and more effective option for the above question?

What do you want to access the internet with?

Sorry duh! It is an IBM-Lenovo-Thinkpad-T60-14-1-core-2-Duo-1-GHz-Laptop-2GB-RAM-60GB-HDD-Window-XP-pro.

Thanks for any thoughts - will read them in the am.

Dongles are cheaper to buy than MiFi gizmos but they will cost the same to operate, depending on which service provider you choose, and none of them are cheap.

The cheapest way is if you already have a smart phone it will probably have its own built in MiFi capability (called Hot Spot) somewhere in Settings.

Android phones should have Settings>Wireless and Networks>Tethering and portable hotspot>portable WiFi hotspot, you can enable it here OR you could Tether your Lenovo to the phone, but some service providers object to tethering or even charge for tethering.
