Desktop replacement

I'm looking to buy a desktop replacement laptop to replace my failing Evesham desktop. I'm looking for at least 500gb storage, preferably x2, and enough power for photo and video editing using Adobe elements.
I've looked at the Dell XPS1730 and Toshiba Qosmio G50. Are these overkill for my needs, any views or other suggestions welcome.

For photo-editing you do not need a lot of power but you do for video editing. I would go for the Toshiba because it has an 18" screen which is the smallest size that I would entertain for editing. I would also use external storage rather than relying on the HDs in the laptop.

Finally decided that what I was looking at was complete overkill for my needs and have ordered a Dell Studio 17. Will keep my 19" monitor to plug in when I need a bigger screen.
