I know that certain TV cards will allow you to connect a VCR an copy the videos to your PC, but I don't know if all do. If anyone has any recommendation on which card to buy it would be greatly appreciated.

Just buy a standalone DVD Recorder and copy VHS direct to DVD?

use the left hand column to select your own criteira, ie. maximum price, manufaturer etc.

I have a Liteon 5005 which does everything I want it to. Not available anymore but there are some better units on the market now:

Thanks a lot for your response, I'll look into that as it seems the best solution.

I would still like to hear from anyone with a PC TV card that records videotapes to a PC hdd.

Well I still have Dazzle Fusion which is a USB connected analogue TV/VHS/Beta capture card. It isn't available anymore but there appears to be a Dazzle unit that does the same job.
