Compact Flash cards

I'm in the market ot buy the Canon S1 digital camera and at the same time a 256mb compact flash card as it only comes with 16mb. I'm a bit confused by the different ones out there though which have varying speeds; as this camera supposedly takes decent motion video (for a digicam that is) i'd like to get a "fast" compact flash card. But i cant find many 256mb card's listed as high speed. I have seen cards with 8x,16x, upto 40x, is this there speed, 40x being high speed? and what's the difference between type I and type II?

Ulimately, can anyone recommend a good one to go for at a decent price?

click here and take a look at what Crucial have to offer.

But, maybe this thread would be better off in the `Helproom`

Have a look here. Timings to write photos to differing CF cards.

The main limit would appear to be how fast your camera will write.

The timings are not for your expected camera but will give some reference of comparative times/makes.
