Centrino Laptop - any recommendations?

  ajm 00:17 25 Mar 04

I am currently looking to get a Centrino-based laptop for approx £1000-1200 in the next few weeks. Just wanted to find out of anyone's expereriences in having a centrino laptop.

Have seen the Toshiba M30-304 from John Lewis for £1099 and am highly interested.

Any suggestions gratefully accepted

Yes, Centrino-based Laptop is very good (I got one myself). The Toshiba one certainly looking very good, same price in Currys. If you do not have to go for big name, you could get more for the same money (i.e. to get a DVD writer etc) Novatech click here.

Just notice, the graphics on Novatech is not as good as Toshiba. Higrade is also worth looking click here

I would second the view on novatech; excellent value for money, particularly if you already have an OS.

Also will depend on what you want it for - purely as a portable machine or a desktop replacement?

I will third Novatech. Occasionally Dell turn up with good offers always worth a check.

Feebs, you are really light years ahead of us. Where did you get it? The fastest Intel Centrino processor is 1.7ghz. Maybe you are conned.

How did you manage that with the OS for £880; I paid £880 without an OS for their 155Ghz centrino :-(
