You will not regret buying this as it has a top class lens and produces super pictures

Very easy to use and will produce quality A4 prints with a photo printer

The auto button means a beginner need do nothing but switch the camera on and press the button to take real professional looking results

You'll need to budget to buy a bigger compact flash memory card, plus some AA re-chargeable batteries and a charger

Remember Jessops will often price-match internet offers, but several internet suppliers will bundle a case, memory card and batteries with the camera

Agree with 961 on the Canon's merits - it, like the later A80, is a modest development of the A70.

Bit puzzled about it being referred to as a beginner's camera as it's a lot better than that description.

If you look around you'll find the A75 for about £130 or even less and even the A80 can be sourced for not all that much more now.

Check websites such as 7DayShop (£125), LetsGoDigital, InternetCamerasDirect (£135 including 32MB Compact Flash card), the same price at Buyacamera and Jessops (overpriced at £170 at present) for the latest prices.

You can get its predecessor, the A70, for even less.
