I'm using NTL cable 1.5mb broadband service, and find its excellent; very reliable and seems as quick as expected. Anyone any views on cable v phoneline broadband? just interested if there are any appreciable differences, or advantages in servce.

I can't speak from personal experience, but the cable networks are relatively new and were designed for wideband services.

The BT network is old and was designed for voice telephony and has been stretched to the limit to accomodate wideband.

The cable operators must have the greater potential to improve further, providing the finances are there.

Very fair point. Have to say I have noticed some comments in here on download restrictions, which don't seem to apply to me. Also not seen anyone talking about more that 1mb. Got an upgrade from 1mb to 1.5mb and the difference is very noticable, so maybe cable is indeed the way to go.
