buying a new laptop

help!! i have been reading the magazine for ages now and wanting a new laptop. budget is no more than £800. looked at the zoostorm 4-6610 rated best buy this month and also the acer aspire 9423 wsm1. i have also seen advertised in the mag an offer from time (page156) 699 for a 2048 mb 17inc screen 100gb gard drive, the spec on this looks good, anybody with any ideas please help

Time went bust once not sure I trust them that much to be honest. What do you want the laptop for? Is it for gaming or just general home use. Do you plan to do things like video editing or otherwise on it? Knowing this we can help more. Avoid laptops with intergrated graphics as at this price you can afford to get one with a seperate one. Aim for at least an ATI X300 card or the equivalent GeForce.

Acer do a nice line up of sub £800 notebooks. Core 2 processors. Good mid line graphics 120gb hard drive 2gb of ram and a 15.4 inch wide screen all for just shy of £800.

thanks 4 the advice guys. i was just replacing my home pc, just wanted to have a notebook/laptop to free up another room in the house. you mentioned a acer laptop, do you know which one? where can i get it from? thankyou

i was going to buy a zoostorm 4-6610 from pc next day, but i have just read 100 replies to a previous message. so where do i goto now, i have been to pcworld, blimey they really didnt want to know, the spec on the zoostorm was brill,
intel core 2 duo, 1gb memeory, 120 gb hard drive ect ect, ive tried dell and to get same spec the price jumps up amazingly so who next, please help
