Buying Advice please!

Right so i'm a computer gamer, and i'm tired of absolute minimum settings for a half decent fps (~30) in the games i play, mostly unreal tournament 2004. I need a new PC for this and unreal tournament 2007.

The specification that i want ideally is;
intel core 2 duo E6600 processor
2 gb(2x1gb) ram
320 GB hard drive maximum, 250 gb minimum
X1950XTX ATI graphics card
Upgrade to vista is gonna be handy but not essential. This PC will need to have an OS but not peripherals or a monitor.

My two questions are these. First is now the time to buy, should i hold out until after christmas for some january sales, is it worth it?

Also where should i get this from. I want the absolute cheapest price as i really don't have that much money. Equally i want somewhere reliable as its alot of money im spending here!

Please please please help a buying newbie out!

Thanks in advance.

Build your own PC and use Windows XP Media with a free upgrade to Windows Vista Premium when it comes out.
A top own build PC should cost about £1100 max for what you want.

click on "build your own desktop" in the pcspecialist link and with the components you specify the price comes to around 1100 gbp inc vat.
