BT Broadband.......Problem, need help???

My new BT b/b was supposed to be activated on friday 9th of Dec after 8pm.

So Sat tried to connect to the internet but couldnt, so gave There helpdesk a ring, to cut a long story short Ive spoke to 3 different people and got different answers and on my 4th atempt I have now been told that the problem is.........

That there is no data avalible on the exchange even though I have a signal and it is all working as it should and that the problem is at there end but what does that " there is no data currently avalible on the adsl exchange " and is it true then when I asked hoew long it would be till it is up and running, they stated that they couldnt give a time frame could be a day, week who knows!

Anyone else had this problem and how long it took BT to sort out, as im paying for b/b im not able to use.
