BT On-Air 56K Wireless modem on XP sp2

Seems like the perfect solution for anyone wishing to remain on dial-up (or with no choice), who has a PC remote from a telephone socket. Currently being advertised on TV by BT and heavily discounted. BEWARE!! After reading product reviews on various websites I rang BT to clarify support for XP sp2. When I finally tracked down a technical person, I was advised: "It very rarely works with service pack 2". There are no patches planned. There may be a replacement offering available in the future. This problem affects the "On-Air 56K Wireless modem" (currently advertised at under £30) and any packages which include this modem (others in the On-Air range).
